On the 29th October an earthquake of 4.3 on the Richter scale was detected in Catalonia. It happened on Thursday at 1.37hrs according to the “institut cartogràfic de Catalunya”. The emergency services phone number (112) received about 200 calls in Catalonia of the people affected by the event, the most rang from Barcelona (41), Girona (75) and Roses (10).
Some minutes after the earthquake there were two more, but not of the same magnitude, only 1.7.
Other earthquakes have happened before in Catalonia: in the last five years 6 have happened inland, plus 20 more occurring around the river delta.
